Rolls-Royce Hatfield Commemorative Brochure 1990
The de Havilland Engine Company had test beds and research facilities at Hatfield. It was merged into Bristol Siddeley in 1961. BS Engines was taken over Rolls-Royce in 1968. When R-R ceased work there, a ‘Hatfield Farewell’ event was held in May 1990. A Commemorative Brochure was produced and a copy given to attendees. One of these copies, presented to the late Bruce Bosher, has been scanned. Additional captions have been contributed by DHAeTSA members Derek Titchner and John Hinton. Can anyone add more? - My late father Terry Anderson worked at Hatfield having served for many years, initially as an apprentice and then as a test engineer up to Hatfield closure.
Is it possible to obtain an original copy? this would be appreciated by Terry's family.
Kind regards, Peter Anderson
I will find out

- After apprenticeship worked for ‘Bris’ Bristow and Nick Crossland on the test beds August 1961 to October 1964. Spent most time on the Gnome. First time I flew was in XJ398. I am almost certain the right hand bloke in the “last run” photo is “ Toshy Rolt” the shop steward. We had just been taken over by BSE and Toshy would say “ don’t tell anyone” because the unions would be a pain.
