DE HAVILLAND TODAY - September 1944
During World War 2 the de Havilland Aircraft Company issued a series of small newsletters to the workforce. The stated aim was to “deal informally with matters of interest to everyone in the de Havilland organisation”. Topics ranged widely from working practices to visits by service people, to war news, social news and almost anything connected to life at work. Due to the shortage of paper each issue had just a few pages, 4¼ ins by 3¼ ins. It is believed that there were 59 issues. No. 58 was different in that it was all about the present state of the de Havilland Enterprise, describing “as far as the censor will allow” its worldwide activities. It concluded with an outline of de Havilland history.
