The origin and history of DHAeTSA
The de Havilland Aeronautical Technical School Old Boys Association was formed at Hatfield in March 1951. About thirty years later the ‘Old Boys’ phrase was dropped and ever since we have been DHAeTSA.
At one time there were seven DHAeTS schools: at Chester, Christchurch, Hatfield, Leavesden, Lostock, Portsmouth and Stag Lane. The ‘headquarters’ were first at Stag Lane and then, from around 1934, at Hatfield. The majority of students passed through Hatfield and this was where the OBA was founded. This Account relates the history of the Association, accompanied by a selection of memorabilia.
